Data privacy statement for DIGILAW

DIGILAW takes the protection of your personal data serious. Hereafter, you will find the relevant aspects regarding DIGILAW’s approach of handling personal data:

Visiting the DIGILAW website without disclosure of personal data

Generally, you can visit the website DIGILAW under the URL https://www.digilaw.de (hereinafter „Website“) without the disclosure of any of your personal data. Personal data means any information concerning the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable individual (e.g. name, address, email address or phone number). The Website is hosted by STRATO AG in Germany which owns a DIN ISO 27001 certification The Website is SSL-encrypted and therefore the IT security is state of the art.

No transfer of personal data to third parties

Without your explicit consent, no personal data will be transferred to a third party, unless it is mandatory by law.

Cookies- General information

A cookie is a small text file that is sent to your device’s hard drive by a website. Each time you return to the same website, your browser retrieves and sends the relevant cookie(s) to the website’s server. For example, when you visit the DIGILAW website a cookie is saved on your computer’s hard drive. DIGILAW solely uses the technical cookie _icl_current_language in order to store the information about your favorite language, i.e. to recognize your preferred language (English or German). DIGILAW does NOT use any other cookies, such as cookies to analyze your browsing behavior or any third party cookies (e.g. for ad targeting purposes).

You have full control over the storage of cookies on your device. Most internet browsers have pre-installed settings that accept cookies in general. By changing the settings of your internet browser, you can prevent it from accepting new cookies or make the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie or you can disable cookies altogether. Cookies already stored on your device may be deleted at any time.

Please note that the language choice feature on the DIGILAW Website may no longer be available to you if you disable the cookie.

Technically required cookie – legal basis for the processing is § 25 para. 2 no. 1 TDDDG

A cookie is required for the function of selecting the desired language (English or German), i.e. this function cannot be offered without the use of the cookie. The legal basis for setting this cookie is Section 25 (2) No. 1 TDDDG. The data collected by technically necessary cookies is not used to create user profiles. If you object to the use of technically necessary cookies by configuring your browser accordingly, it may no longer be possible to use all functions of the website to their full extent.

Communication via email and email encryption

Please note that the transfer of data via the internet (e.g. in connection with email communication) generally may provide security loopholes. A complete protection of data from access by third parties is therefore impossible. Therefore, in case of sensitive information, please call first in order to get in contact with DIGILAW. Also, the encrpytion of email is recommendable for the exchange of sensitive information (e.g. via PGP). DIGILAW provides PGP encryption upon request. If you have any query in that respect, please do not hesitate to ask.

Push services – prior consent

In the event of push services (e.g. newsletter) being offered by DIGILAW, the receipt is subject to your prior explicit consent which is logged. You may request the relevant information when and how you gave your consent at any time. You can also request information about any of your personal data stored by DIGILAW at any time. Also you can withdraw your consent for the future. However, in the event that you do not give your consent or that you withdraw your consent for the future, you will not be able to use the relevant push-service (any more).
